Dervilla, a native of Ireland, has been teaching English as a foreign language since 2003. She is a qualified English language teacher, having graduated with a Master of Arts in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) from the University of Manchester.
She has experience teaching both employees and apprentices at
internationally active companies, mainly in the Allgäu und Oberland regions.
She teaches General, Technical and Business English, and also designs and develops customised courses for corporate clients. Dervilla has also conducted English courses for teachers.
Her professional interests include speaking strategies, ESP (English for Specific Purposes) and the development of English as a global language in business communication.
As a member of various ELT (English language Teaching) associations, IATEFL, BESIG and MELTA, Dervilla takes part regularly in professional development events.
She currently lives in a picturesque village in the district of Weilheim-Schongau in Upper Bavaria where she enjoys cycling through the nearby Alpine foothills in her free time.
